The SIR Identification Views shown below illustrate the approximate location of all SIR components available for the vehicle. This will assist in determining the appropriate SIR Disabling and Enabling for a given service procedure, refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

Cavalier/Sunfire


(1)	Electronic Front End Sensor (EFS) -- Located at the front of the vehicle on the hood latch support bracket.
(2)	I/P Module -- Located at the top right under the instrument panel.
(3)	Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) -- Located under the passenger seat under the vehicle's carpet.
(4)	Side Impact Module -- Located on the seat back of the passenger seat.
(5)	Side Impact Sensor (SIS) -- Located under the center pillar trim near the bottom.
(6)	Side Impact Sensor (SIS) -- Located under the center pillar trim near the bottom.
(7)	Side Impact Module -- Located on the seat back of the driver seat.
(8)	Steering Wheel Module -- Located on the steering wheel.
(9)	Vehicle Battery -- Located under the hood on the left side.
