- Clean and inspect the universal joint cap bore (1).
- Check the slinger (2) for bent lip or looseness.
- Clean and inspect the splines (3).
- Clean the snap ring groove (1).
- Clean and inspect the yoke splines (2).
- Clean and inspect the bearing mating surfaces (3).
