  1. Remove the oil filter adapter bolts.
  2. Remove the oil filter adapter and gasket.
  3. Remove the oil filter bypass hole plug.

    4. Important: Do not pry against the threads in the oil filter bypass hole when removing the bypass valve.

  4. Remove the oil filter bypass valve by prying out with a suitable tool.
