Tools Required

J 24086-C Piston Pin Remover/Installer

Important: Ensure that the arrow on top of the piston faces towards the front of the engine.

1. Place the piston and connecting rod in the J 24086-C .
2. Coat the piston pin with clean engine oil.
3. Press the piston pin into place.
4. Inspect the piston for freedom of movement.



5. Assemble the oil control ring assembly.

Expander

•	Lower oil control ring

•	Upper oil control ring

Notice: Use a piston ring expander to install the piston rings. The rings may be damaged if expanded more than necessary.

6. Install the upper and lower compression ring with the manufacturer's mark facing up.



7. Stagger the oil rail gaps in order to provide an effective oil seal.
