Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    2. Object Number: 1238958 Size: SH
  2. Remove the bolt, then reposition the wiring harness clamp bracket.

    3. Object Number: 1238961 Size: SH
  3. Remove the 2 nuts, then reposition the A/C hose aside.

    4. Object Number: 244267 Size: SH
  4. Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
  5. With pressure applied to the wrench, and tension relieved from the drive belt, remove the accessory drive belt.

Installation Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right side lower engine splash shield.
  3. Properly route and install the accessory drive belt onto the drive pulleys.

    4. Object Number: 244267 Size: SH
  4. Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
  5. With pressure applied to the wrench, install the accessory drive belt.
  6. With the accessory drive belt installed properly, release the belt tensioner.

    7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the right side lower engine splash shield.

    8. Object Number: 1238961 Size: SH
  8. Position the A/C hose and install the 2 retaining nuts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C hose nuts to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1238958 Size: SH
  9. Position the wiring harness clamp bracket and install the bolt.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the wire harness clamp bracket bolt to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).

  10. Connect the negative battery cable.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
