Installation Procedure
- Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to 
Fuel Pressure Relief.
 
- Remove the engine cover.
 
- Remove the quick connect coupling cover of the fuel feed hose.
 
- Using the 
J 43178 disconnect tool
 , disconnect
the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to 
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
 
- Install the 
CH-48027 gage
 between the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail and of the fuel feed hose.
 
- Install the 
CH-48027 gage
 and tighten securely.
 
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 
 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
 
- Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
 
- Turn OFF the ignition.
 
- Check for any fuel leaks.
 
Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to the 
Fuel Pressure Relief.
 
- Remove the 
CH-48027 gage
.
 
- Using the 
J 43178 disconnect tool
 , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the 
CH-48027 gage
 from the fuel feed
pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.
 
- Disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the 
CH-48027 gage
 , and remove the adapter. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.
 
- Connect the quick-connect fitting of the fuel feed hose (2) to the fuel feed pipe (1) of the
fuel rail. Refer to 
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
 
- Install the cover for the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose.
 
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 
15 N·m (11 lb ft).
 
- Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
 
- Turn OFF the ignition.
 
- Check for any fuel leaks.
 
- Install the engine cover.
