Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 2.4L (LAX) 🢒 Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. refer TO Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Remove the right engine under cover.
  3. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement

    4. Object Number: 2016540 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (1).
  5. Separate the crankshaft position sensor connector clamp and wire harness (3).
  6. Remove the bolt and crankshaft position sensor (4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2016543 Size: SH
  1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) on the crankshaft position sensor.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2016540 Size: SH
  2. Install the crankshaft position sensor (4) with the bolt and tighten to 9.0 N·m (80 lb in).

    3. Note: Do not twist the O-ring.

  3. Install the wire harness (3) and crankshaft position sensor connector clamp.
  4. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector (2).
  5. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement
  6. Install the right engine under cover.
  7. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
  8. Inspect for oil leak.
