| Subject: | Performance Parts Supercharger Installation Instructions Supplement |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described
symptoms in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The GM Performance Parts Supercharger installation instructions may be incorrect.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The following items may not be used during supercharger installation:
- The long red wire from the supercharger ECU is not used. This is for
additional accessories that may be available in the future.
- Step #94 of the GM Performance Parts Supercharger Installation Instructions
reference installing an external ground. This step does not apply to all supercharger
ECU's. Early supercharger ECUs utilized an external ground wire for the ECU as described
in Step #94. However, current supercharger ECU's do not have an external ground circuit
and therefore this step will not apply to current production supercharger ECUs.
- The small, white, 6 pin connector will not be used. The 6 pin connector
is used for flash code diagnosis by connecting a test light lead into Pin 4 of the
connector.
Note: GM Performance Parts is currently reviewing potential instruction updates.
.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the
condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps
do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact
GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
