Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 1937017 Size: SH
  2. Remove the water pump strap disc (1).
    3. • Remove the 3 bolts (2).
    • Do not remove.
    • Counterhold against the bolt of the torsional vibration damper.
  3. Raise the vehicle by its full height.
  4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 1936581 Size: SH
  5. Drain the coolant.
    6. • Place a drain pan underneath.
    • Install the suitable hose to the drain connection (2).
    • Open the coolant drain screw (1).
    • Drain the coolant.
    • Close the coolant drain screw.
  6. Lower the vehicle by its full height.
  7. Remove the water pump strap disc.

    8. Remove the 3 bolts.

  8. Remove the water pump (2) from the pump module (1).
    9. • Remove the 5 bolts.
    • Remove the water pump.
  9. Clean the sealing surfaces.
  10. Clean the thread.

    11. Clean the 3 water pump threads.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the water pump.

    2. Use NEW bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the 5 bolts to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  2. Install the water pump strap disc.
    3. • Install the 3 bolts.
    • Use NEW bolts.
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Install the water pump belt pulley.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the 3 bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  7. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
