Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2008 🢒 Astra 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 1.8L (2H0) 🢒 Knock Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery.
    3. • Remove the ground connection from the negative terminal.
    • Loosen the nut.
  3. Raise the vehicle by its full height.

    4. Object Number: 1945774 Size: SH
  4. Remove the intake manifold support (2).
    5. • Disconnect the wiring harness plug of the catalytic converter control oxygen sensor.
    • Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1) from the bracket.
    • Remove the 2 bolts (3).

    Object Number: 1945799 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  6. Remove the knock sensor.

    7. Remove the bolt (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the knock sensor.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  2. Install the wiring harness plug.
  3. Install the intake manifold support.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

    • Install the wiring harness plug into the bracket.
    • Connect the wiring harness plug for the catalytic converter control oxygen sensor.
  4. Lower the vehicle by its full height.
  5. Connect the battery.

    6. Install the ground connection to the ground terminal.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References .
  7. Close the hood.
