Special Tools

1. Remove the axle shaft affected from transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .

Important: Place a drip pan underneath, transmission fluid will escape. Axle shaft remains in wheel hub.




2. Remove the affected axle shaft seal ring with KM-557-A   (2) and KM-446   (1) from transmission housing.

1. Install the new axle shaft seal ring.

•	Coat the axle shaft seal ring with transmission fluid.

•	Install the axle shaft seal ring flush in the transmission. For F17 use KM-446   (1)

2. Install the axle shaft in the transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .
3. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
