Liftgate Applique Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the liftgate.

    2. Object Number: 1937091 Size: SH
  2. Remove the lock trim panel.
    3. 2.1. Release the clips.
    2.2. Remove the bolt.

    Object Number: 1937100 Size: LF
  3. Remove the luggage shade retainers for the liftgate garnish molding (3) left side.
  4. Remove the upper liftgate garnish molding (2) left side.

    5. Release the 4 clips.

  5. Remove the luggage shade retainers for the liftgate garnish molding (3) right side.
  6. Remove the upper liftgate garnish molding (2) right side.

    7. Release the 4 clips.

  7. Remove the lower liftgate trim panel.

    8. Release the 8 clips.

  8. Remove the liftgate applique.
    9. 8.1. Disconnect the wiring harness plug.
    8.2. Remove the 6 nuts (1).
    8.3. Remove the liftgate applique (arrows).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the liftgate applique.

    2. Connect the wiring harness plug.

    Tighten
    Tighten the 6 nuts to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  2. Install the lower liftgate trim panel.
  3. Install the lock trim panel.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the liftgate garnish moldings, right side.
  5. Install the luggage shade retainers for the garnish moldings, right side.
  6. Install the garnish moldings, left side.
  7. Install the luggage shade retainers for the garnish moldings, left side.
  8. Close the liftgate.

Liftgate Applique Replacement Coupe

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1943882 Size: SH
  1. Remove the liftgate applique.
  2. Remove the luggage shade from the liftgate.

    3. Disconnect the 2 retaining cords.


    Object Number: 1942306 Size: LF
  3. Remove the upper right and left liftgate (1) garnish moldings.
    4. 3.1. Remove the 2 luggage shade retainers (2).
    3.2. Release the 6 clips.

    Object Number: 1942242 Size: SH
  4. Remove the liftgate lock panel.
    5. 4.1. Remove the body-bound rivet.
    4.2. Release the 3 inner handle cups.

    Object Number: 1942303 Size: SH
  5. Remove the lower liftgate inner paneling.

    6. Release the 8 clips.


    Object Number: 1942320 Size: LH

    Important: The middle bolts are to be additionally installed with sealing compound.

  6. Remove the liftgate applique.
    7. 6.1. Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1).
    6.2. Remove the 6 nuts (2).

  7. Remove the switch from the liftgate applique.
    8. 7.1. Remove the 2 screws (3) from the guide.
    7.2. Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1).
    7.3. Disconnect the wiring harness (2).
    7.4. Release the switches.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the switch into the liftgate applique.
    2. 1.1. Install the switch.
    1.2. Connect the wiring harness.
    1.3. Connect the wiring harness plug.
    1.4. Install the 2 screws into the guide.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the liftgate applique.

    3. Connect the wiring harness plug.

    Tighten
    Tighten the 6 nuts to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  3. Install the lower liftgate trim panel.

    4. Install the 8 clips.

  4. Install the liftgate lock panel.

    5. Install the 3 inner handle cups.

  5. Install the body-bound rivet.
  6. Install the upper right and left liftgate garnish moldings.
    7. 6.1. Install the 6 clips.
    6.2. Install the 2 luggage shade retainers.
  7. Install the luggage shade to liftgate.

    8. Connect the 2 retaining cords.
