Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Deactivation of the air bag discharge time capacitor.
  3. Position the seat to the most forward position.
  4. Remove the front seat belt trim panel.

    5. Remove the trim panel upwards (1).

  5. Remove the seat belt from the front seat.

    6. Remove the bolts (2).

  6. Remove the driver seat, rear.

    7. Remove the 2 bolts (1).

  7. Remove the front seat.
    8. • Remove from the front guide.
    • Release and disconnect the compact connector.

  8. Remove the wiring harness from the compact plug.
    9. • Open the retaining clips, arrows and remove the wiring harness plug and the compact plug.
    • Open the cable tie (1) and disconnect the wiring harness from the cladding.

  9. Remove the seat belt buckle tensioner.

    10. Remove the bolt (1) and remove the seat belt buckle tensioner from the bracket.

  10. Loosen the seat belt.
    11. • Fold open the cover (1).
    • Remove the seat belt bolts (2) from the center pillar.

  11. Detach the seat belt trim panel.
    12. • Detach the fastening ring (2).
    • Remove the case (1).
    • Remove the trim panel (3).
  12. Detach the top panel.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Use screw locking compound.

  1. Install the seat belt buckle tensioner.

    2. Insert the seat belt buckle tensioner in the bracket and tighten the bolt.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  2. Connect the wiring harness plug into the compact plug.
    3. • Position the wiring harness into cladding and fasten with cable tie.
    • Connect the wiring harness plug in the central plug.
  3. Install the front seat.
    4. • Connect and latch the compact connector.
    • Insert the seat in front guide.

    Important: Use screw locking compound.

  4. Fasten the front seat.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Important: Use screw locking compound.

  5. Install the front seat belt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the front seat trim panel.

    7. Reposition the front seat to the original position.

  7. Connect the battery.
  8. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References .
  9. Install the top panel.
