Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1651435 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Clean any debris away that may be present around the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent filter cover.
  3. Disconnect the fuel fill vent pipe quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, carefully release the retaining tabs (1) on the EVAP canister filter cover.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister filter cover.
  6. Remove and discard the EVAP canister filter.
  7. Remove and discard the EVAP canister filter cover seal from the cover.
  8. Clean the inside of the EVAP canister filter housing with a clean shop towel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1742804 Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW seal to the EVAP canister filter cover. Ensure that the seal is properly seated to the cover.
  2. Install a NEW filter to the EVAP canister filter housing.
  3. Install the canister filter cover.
  4. Ensure that the filter cover retaining tabs (1) are secured to the canister.

  5. Connect the fuel fill vent pipe quick connect fitting (2) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
