Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.
- Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
 
- Remove the wheel and the tire assembly. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation 
 in Tires and Wheels.
 
- Pry off the locking plate and remove the brake pressure hose from the
 strut.
 
Notice: Do not let weight of caliper hang on brake hose as this could damage the brake
hose. Use mechanics wire to tie caliper to strut.
- Remove the caliper bracket-to-steering knuckle bolts.
 
- Suspend the caliper using mechanics wire.
 
- Remove
rotor the retaining screw.
 
Important: Refer to 
Brake Rotor Surface and Wear Inspection 
 .
- Remove the rotor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
- Install
the brake rotor onto the wheel hub.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the rotor retaining screw.
 
Tighten
Tighten the brake rotor retaining screw to 4 N·m
 (35 lb in).
- Clean the caliper support bracket fasteners thoroughly with brake and
 choke cleaner P/N 21007432 or equivalent. 
 
Important: If LOCTITE 272® Threadlocker or equivalent
 is not available, new caliper support bracket fasteners must be used.
- Apply LOCTITE 272® Threadlocker or equivalent to the caliper support bracket
 fasteners. 
 
- Install the caliper bracket-to-steering knuckle bolts.
 
Tighten
Tighten the brake caliper-to-steering knuckle bolts
 to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).
- Attach the brake pressure hose and install
the locking plate.
 
Caution: Refer to Wheel Installation Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the front wheel and the tire assemblies.
 
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation 
 in Tires and Wheels.
 
- Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
