For 1990-2009 cars only
Enabling the Frontal and Curtain Inflators
- Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointed straight ahead.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove key.
- Connect the left and right curtain inflator module (YEL 2-way) connectors.
- Install C-pillar trim on both left and right sides of the vehicle (2000 shown, 2001 similar).
- Connect both the driver and passenger inflator module (YEL 2-way) connectors.
- Fasten clips on yellow two-way connectors to I/P panel brace.
- Install IGN1 mini-fuse in under hood fuse block.
- Turn ignition On and verify AIR BAG telltale operates properly.
- Install lower left I/P closeout panel.
| 4.1. | Position C-pillar trim to vehicle. |
| 4.2. | Install C-pillar trim by pushing gently at clip locations. |
| Caution: Apply Loctite 242® Threadlocker US P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, on all restraint bolts/nuts before installation. Failure to use such threadlocker correctly may result in personal injury. |
| 4.3. | Install rear shoulder belt to C-pillar. |
Tighten
Tighten the rear shoulder belt-to-C-pillar to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
| 4.4. | Install rear shoulder belt fastener cover. |
| 4.5. | Route shoulder belt into C-pillar trim at access slot. |
| 4.6. | Fold up rear seat back. |
| 4.7. | Operate rear seat shoulder belt to verify function. |
