Clutch Concentric Actuator Cylinder Replacement 3.6L Engine

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    3. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Remove the transmission assembly. Refer to Transmission Replacement.

    Important: If carrying out transmission removal procedure remove flexible clip (1) and leave assembly attach to transmission.

  5. Detach the flexible hose securing clip (1).
  6. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe bracket to transmission retaining bolt (2).
  7. Release the bleeder assembly securing clip (4), by using a suitable screwdriver and releasing it from the bleeder adapter.
  8. Remove the bleeder assembly (3).

  9. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts  (3).
  10. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining bolt  (2).
  11. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder (1) from the front of the transmission (4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1950991 Size: SH
  1. Install the concentric actuator cylinder (1) to the front of the transmission (4).

    2. Important: The concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining bolt (2) must not to be fully tightened at this stage.

  2. Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining bolt (2).

    3. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts 16  N·m (12 lb ft).

  4. Tighten the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining bolt (2).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8  N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the bleeder assembly (3).
  6. Install the bleeder assembly securing clip (4).
  7. Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe bracket to transmission retaining bolt (2).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8  N·m (71 lb in).

  8. Install the flexible hose securing clip, listen for an audible click to confirm fitting.
  9. Install the transmission assembly. Refer to Transmission Replacement.
  10. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding.
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  12. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  13. Road test vehicle for correct clutch and transmission operation.

Clutch Concentric Actuator Cylinder Replacement 6.0L Engine

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

    3. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 1950999 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe (1) from the concentric actuator cylinder (2) by using a suitable screwdriver to remove the wire clip, take care not to loose clip when removed.
  6. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).
  7. Remove the concentric actuator cylinder (2) from the front of the transmission.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1950950 Size: SH
  1. Install the concentric actuator cylinder (2) to the front of the transmission.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10  N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Refer to General Repair Instructions in the Preface section.

  3. Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe (1) to the concentric actuator cylinder (2).
  4. Install transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  5. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  7. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  8. Road test vehicle for correct clutch and transmission operation.
