1. Turn ON the radio.
2. Use the J 39916-A in order to isolate the inoperative speaker, if needed.
3. Adjust the FADE and BALANCE to the inoperative speaker.
4. Measure A/C voltage from the speaker connector terminal A to B (speaker connected).

Is A/C voltage measured?

Replace the speaker.

Inspect the speaker circuits for an open or a short to ground.

Was an open or short to ground found?

Go to Step 6

Repair the open or the short to ground in the speaker circuit.

Is the vehicle equipped with UF1?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Replace the audio amplifier (Bose®).
